"This statement is intended to explore and comment on the relationship between RIGS and myself over the past 2 years.
During this period I have had considerable contact with a number of representatives from RIGS for a variety of positive reasons but latterly my main contacts have been Chris Hastings and Kelly Gaffney. They have both displayed commendable professional characteristics throughout our time together – they have kept me informed of changes when I needed to be, they have returned my calls or emails in a timely manner, they have reassuringly kept my file up to date regarding CRB’s and any changes of information, and when necessary – as occasionally happens in any busy business relationship – they have been firm, fair and consistent when chasing me for any of the above work details which I have been slow in providing.
I have been impressed with the quality of their own knowledge too, about the parameters of my own work, about the structure and specialism’s within Local Health Boards and Local Authorities, about the relationships within specific offices, and it has been reassuring to have them ask questions of me when they do not understand all of the points I have been trying to get across either about local conditions or about the importance of a legal position I am taking with regard to something specific. Much of my work involves the interpretation and implementation of specific Acts of Parliament as they relate to the mental health of clients of the Authority for whom I am currently employed and Rigs personnel do appear to have an understanding of the complexity and seriousness of the duties involved – which has impressed and reassured me.
I have consistently tried to maintain a high quality of work delivery and I am always concerned about my professional reputation with my peers and this has been made all the easier because of the firm and honest relationship I have with my partner agency, RIGS. It has remained stress free and at times comforting and friendly and is certainly an area that I have been able to depend on – I wonder how many in my position can say the same?
Finally, provided I have done my bit the finances have never been called into question and my hours have been paid correctly and on time – in this day and age that too is of great consequence and something which I derive considerable satisfaction from.
The negatives are yet to be discovered for there are none of note at present – but I have the confidence now to know with some certainty that whatever occurs we can and will sort it out together!
