We have a rare opportunity for a Qualified Social Worker to act as team leader of a medium sized generic children and families team based in a remote but beautiful northern part of Scotland's Shetland Isles. Read on! ..... We are looking for an experienced children's social worker who will ideally have been managing cases for 3 years or more, with knowledge of the Scottish children's social work system, working within the fields of Looked After Children and Child Protection. The team is made up of approximately 8 social workers (including newly qualified social workers), 3 family support workers and admin staff. There would also be an expectation for the successful applicant to join the out of hours rota 2 nights every 3 weeks. Due to the extremely remote location of this role, the client may be willing to discuss offering some financial assistance with the cost of travel and/or accommodation but this would be reviewed per each individual's application.
